The Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius, Charles Xavier-Luc Duval, has observed that the Northern Region had greater business opportunities that the Mauritius private sector could venture into ethanol production. Duval said this on arrival in Tamale on a familiarisation tour to take opportunity of the business potentials of the Northern Region and make the appropriate investments.
He said the region presented great business opportunities for development, and noted that there were currently some Mauritius private businesses ongoing, especially, in the sugar industry, to create jobs for the people. Duval, who paid a courtesy call on the Northern Regional Minister, said Mauritius had similar geographical and population characteristics like the Northern Region, and that its population was about 1.3 million.
